A few years ago at the Riu Playacar, we saw many, many agoutis running around the property... The cutest thing was seeing a mama nursing her young'uns....

Yes, in Playacar the residents frequently feed them, and they do what comes natural. Stay and multiply! However, I've frequently heard them referred to as Cireque (sp?). Is that another species?

It was kinda strange not seeing a single one this year at La Tortuga. In the past, when we stayed at the Tucan/Quetzal, they were running around everywhere! But then again, La Tortuga is right in the city which is no place for a critter like that.
