Oct 13-20th Trip planned...thinking about cancelling

We have our honeymoon planned for Oct 13-20th in Playa. We are staying at the Riu Mexico Palace. I have been looking at weather.com over the past 2 months and EVERY time I have looked it was T Storms and showers. The 10 day forecast is also all T Storms. I am getting a little discouraged about going to Playa for a honeymoon with no sun. I also checked weather.com for Cabo and it is sunny 9/10 days in the forecast.
Has anyone been to Playa within the past month that would like to give me some advice. I REALLY need some fun in the sun. I have been feeling a little down with the miserable rainy weather at home, and I do not want to have the same feeling in Playa. Advice??

You should go...the forecasts can be really misleading...and even if you get a little rain, it is often a nice refreshing cool-off from the heat....I loved the Riu Palace when we went there a few years ago...is this the newer one or the older one?

My advice is this..........
GO. ....you will have so much fun.............out of 14 or 15 trips to Playa, it has been forecasted to rain all of them, but in reality has rained only once.
You can NEVER trust the forecast
If it does rain, it usually lasts about 5 minutes..............just an excuse to duck into the bar
Relax................go.............trust me...........you will LOVE it and I am looking forward to a trip report.

Best Advice: Don't cancel. But only heed that advice if you can make up your mind NOT to obsess and stress over it between now and then. YOu can have all sorts of peeps (local and itinerant) tell you not to worry over and over and give you every reassurance in the world.....

But if you are the type who will worry yourself sick about it and stress over it between now and your honeymoon (and in your post you do "sound" stressed already) regardless of the assurances you will get here, then frankly, maybe you should change your trip.

I think you'll find that the weather forecasts are always going to say thunderstorms this time of year.

My experience last week (and weather.com said thunderstorms all week):

9/22 steady rain most of the day
9/23 cloudy with hellacious rain squall mid-morning
9/24 sunny and 85
9/25 rainy and kinda chilly in the morning, sorta sunny in the afternoon
9/26 sunny and 85
9/27 sunny and 85
9/28 very brief, isolated shower in the morning, sunny and 85 rest of day
9/29 sunny and getting a bit hotter
9/30 leaving, but sunny

The only thing to watch for is hurricanes about a week out or so, but even then big ones are pretty rare (the last couple of years notwithstanding).

You might get a couple of days of rain, but that should keep the sunburn to an acceptable level. No worries and have fun!!!

Hi! We were just in playa on our honeymoon as well about 2 weeks ago. The forecast called for storms every single day!

Guess what, it was sunshine every single day! It rained twice in the time we were there, for no more then 20 minutes - it was the perfect excuse to duck into a bar for a drink

If you're that stressed out about what the weather MIGHT be I'd cancel.

weather.com sucks. Don't worry. Just stay off of weather.com

It very RARELY rains continuously for days and days here. VERY rarely.
