sorry, have to ask
Ok, I promised my daughter-in-law I would post this question, which I think I know the answer to already, but here goes. First of all let me explain a little. We are coming to PDC one week from today. My husband and I with our son and daughter-in-law. My husband and son are already tanned from our summer months here in Kansas. I have been frequenting indoor tanning salon for the past month to acquire a nice base tan, but my daughter-in-law is blonde haired, blue eyed and fair complexion. She does not tan well and burns easily. She plans to use an indoor bronzer bed twice this next week and also have spray on tan applied just prior to our trip. She has done this before and the results are good, but don't last a complete week. She asked me if there would be any place in PDC that provides the spray on tan that she could do middle of the week. I honestly have no idea, and I'm guessing the answer is "no". But I promised her I would post the question, so am turning to all of you peeps for the answer. I know, I know, this is a tropical vacation area where people come to to soak up the sun and fun, so that's why I'm guessing the answer is "no". Anyway, any input from any of you?

And I'm also sorry, but be careful with the indoor tanning stuff in the future. Every time I go to see a dermatologist here they ask about that...(I imagine it could lead to future lawsuits/liability stuff).
OK, the important good news: truly, there's no need to 'sweat' how you look... everyone will have different hues, be sweating from the sun...and happy! No one will care about how tan you are - or not. Have a great time! |

from the Mystic tan website:
"Swimming in chlorinated water or salt water can fade the Mystic Tan results, cause possible streaking and will diminish the length of your tan. However, normal activities such as bathing, showering or physical activities will not affect the quality of the tan." I think I've seen someoen down there with this streaky effect, it wasn't very attractive ![]() I recommend good sunblock, like everyone else is. She will probably be much happier with the results. |

I have to agree with everyone else. Forget the tanning salon--a couple of visits won't give her a tan and that spray-on tan will start to look awful rather quickly. Tanning beds are worse than the sun. Take it from someone who has had chunks of her flesh cut out at the dermatologist's office--tanning causes skin cancer. Sorry to be so graphic, but I feel a responsibility to warn others. I use lots of sun BLOCK, tshirts when snorkeling, and lie in the shade as much as possible.
