"Jacko and the Commie" - a North Carolina trip report!
No, its not a cheesy 70s sitcom... Rather, its the title of our family trip report to go visit Jack and Linda at the Highland Lakes Inn in North Carolina!
I'll be posting pics ASAP, but just wanted to start by saying that this place is beautiful. BEAUTIFUL!!! Its like a little Brigadoon of country comfort retreat resort with lakes trees goats and and and... YIKES! We LOVE This place! We're already decided we will be regulars here for years to come! (I'm composing this message sitting on the porch of my cottage, overlooking the meadow, listening to the pheasant trumpet with the sunrise! The level of hospitality shown here (even by employees that did not know that we were friends of the owners) is second to none in any bed and breakfast at which I've stayed (and Kelli and I do a lot of B&B travel). Anyway, I need to take a minute and research the apple orchard we are going to this morning, but I'll try to be back in a bit to post some pictures! Thanks for the nice words, Stewart..Linda and I were just talking over our coffee saying what a beautiful family you guys are.
Now Stewart and I had a wee bit of wine and tequila last night  ...this might explain the apple orchids and the pheasant-peacock trumpets! (although we do have some new chickens I hear this morning too...) |

Here are the kids making friends with the turkey at the chicken coop:
  The kids at the HLI pumpkin patch:  Here are some great shots of me and the kids out on the dock. (The last one is one of the nicest shots I've ever taken with the kids. I'm going to frame it and put it up in my office when we get back to town!)    Here are a couple of shots of our DELICIOUS dinner last night at Seasons restaurant at the HLI. First shot is the half eaten (whoops, I forgot to take the pic earlier) grilled ceasar salad. Second shot is the grilled langostine and scallop with grilled corn something underneath. I don't remember the whole description, but it was INCREDIBLE!!!   Here are the kids posing outside the restaurant:  And "Uncle Jack" helping us put the kids to bed!

 The place looks beautiful as usual and the kids are so adorable I also think the pics you took with the kids on the dock are precious, absolutely worth framing  I know I've said it before, but the pic with you and Kelli in the white linen outfits in Playa is my alltime favorite of the 2 of you Have a great time

Great shots, Stewart! You didn't disappoint!
All the pictures of you with your kids are great! I think you should frame the first two.......one with each kiddo........then you and Kelli in the middle.Waiting for more.........
