Two items I can't find up here

Yes, I'm packing already, even tho we don't leave for 11 days. I'm having trouble finding a couple of things here and am wondering if they are easy to find and reasonably priced in Playa. Not sure if I have time to order them online.
1) Something watertight to put room key and money in while swimming
2) Environmentally friendly sunblock that is OK to wear in cenotes and near reefs

Judy, I think you should be able to find anything you might need in Playa. I remember seeing water tight containers in a number of places but not the sunblock.
Where are you staying. The gift shops in many of the resorts will carry these.

drugstore.com may have the sun screen you want, they have a oil free PABA free lotion. I just take some snack size and qt size zip bags. You can stash a zip bag under your chair buried in the sand if you want.

2) hp sauce
3) a good indian restaurant
4) a good sushi restaurant

thanks!

If you mean where can these be found in Playa, I can help with a couple.

1. No aged cheddar that I've found, but mild cheddar can be found at any of the major grocery stores, and also at DAC market.
2. Saw this at Wal-Mart, Soriana, DAC, and Pacsadeli
3. No dice. I have Indian spices, however, and make do at home.
4. Sushi Itto in Paseo Mall and Sushi Tlan are both decent, except they put cream cheese in their maki rolls unless you ask for it without. Gross!

Anybody know where I can find the "ready made" cheese fondue sold down there? I've got friends who bought it at Sams or Costco in Mexi... but I can't find it here stateside anywhere.... That is the best thing to have on hand for a quick meal or snack!

Hmmm. There is that runny, orange "nacho" cheese you can find here, but it doesn't taste very good. I can't imagine this is what you mean.

Thanks!

Wow , That is very generous of you, Jamnkats!
I was hoping to buy everything I needed up here to avoid having to spend my vacation time shopping for stuff while we are there. Now that I know what the sunblock is called, I might make another attempt to find it here again. Thanks to everyone for helping! Hope to run into some of you soon!

I bought my eco-friendly sunblock at a "Whole Foods Market" in my area. Perhaps you have one near you??

EDIT: I just did a search of the Whole Foods Market web site. There's one in Madison and one in Milwaukee.
Nerak936 is online now

You will be down before us, otherwise I'd offer to bring down some sunscreen for you; Hawaiin Tropic has one that available in every store here; the bottle can be seen on their site here if you think it might help you to spot it at your stores.

Our question is this... we realize all the different places to shop in Playa these days; but do they carry much in the way of Canadian/American sized clothing and shoes? I didn't have a chance to get decent cargo shorts this summer, and we just surprised my dad with a ticket to come with us two days ago and don't know what he might be without. I do remember PurpleDragonfly's feet swelling last trip and she needed larger sandals, and we were unwilling to pay $200 US ($300 Canadian at that time!) on 5th Ave. We had no luck elsewhere in Playa at that time, Walmart in Cancun was even a bust, and we finally found some at the 5th shoe store in Cozumel we visted. Lots of selection out there at the time, but mainly for smaller people. Will we have more luck this time?
