Public college dude leaving for work now. Betcha Carole is working out there in Joisey too.
We get Veterans Day off, though - will be back in the midwest then. Much better for traveling than Thanksgiving or Christmas. |

No day off around here either. Did have an exciting morning though. Carbon monoxide/gas monitor went off at 6:15 this a.m.!!!
The alarm was LOUD and screechy. The monitor said GAS and we ran out of the house into the rain as quickly as we could while I grabbed a phone and screamed do not turn off/on lights. We left the door open and I fumbled around for a phone number so I could call the gas company outside. Hubby went back into the house to get phone book after 6 minutes and alarm was off. Gas company said it would reset since we had doors open so still wait outside. Youngest and hubby left for work and school and I waited in my pjs for them to come. Got the all clear when they couldn't find anything. Said false alarms happen once in awhile. Whew! Guess I'll go buy a new monitor today.![]() ![]()

Went on a little trip to Pella, Iowa this weekend. Oldest had a soccer game at Central College. What a nice campus and darling town! The Pella doors and windows company has it's corporate Headquarters there. I had never heard of this town before and I want to go back and explore. There is an historic downtown and the bulidings are very unique. Loved the windmill!! And the Dutch bakery was phenomenal!!! Had a pastry known as Dutch Letters and I am now hooked! The bakery is supposed to be know all over the country...it's called Jaarsma Bakery. Yummmmmm! If you get a chance stop and visit this area in Iowa. Wish I would have had more time there to stop in the shops. I love finding quaint little towns.
