Heated pool at Royal?

Is there a heated pool at the Royal in Playa? We're planning a trip over Thanksgiving; and last year at Excellence Riviera Cancun we appreciated the heated pool (we only saw a couple of brave souls in the ocean). If not a heated pool, is there a free hot tub?

Also curious if Royal has professional live music in the evening as we enjoyed both the piano bar (inside) and outside live entertainment at the Riu Palace Mexico and live entertainment at Excellence.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I dont believe the pool is heated, but I was just there sept 15-23 and I am going back nov 22-27 so i guess I'll find out.

I am SO NOT A NIGHT PERSON, but they did have some music by the lobby bar - I dont know how professional it is. Then there are the shows around 9pm

You are so close to town that a lot of peeps go to town for night life. In fact all the bars at Royal PDC close down at midnight.

There is a jacuzzi type pool next to the main pool. And some of the rooms have jacuzzis.

There are SOME facilities in the Spa that you can use without charge.

No the pool is not heated and neither is the outdoor jacuzzi. The jacuzzi at the spa is heated though, and all rooms have a jetted whirlpool tub IN the room.

I was thinking the same thing. Bath water temperature compared to the Pacific coast waters.

Well, I was there two times in the month of December and the ocean was a bit....nippley? Then again, it depends on what you think is cold I guess.

The North Sea. (Not exactly what you would describe as "pleasant" paddling, never mind swimming, off the beaches on the east coast here. Even in "summer". Brrrrrrrrrr <<shiver>>)

I thought that one of the aerated pools was connected to the main pool (same temp as pool) and one was not that was a bit warmer?

we just got back yesterday and every evening we met the other couples we traveled with in the lobby bar around 7pm. There was almost always some kind of live music (other than piano) either playing or setting up to play. The last night we were there, there was a great mariachi (sp?) band. One of the outdoor hot tubs is heated-not as warm as you'd find in a hotel in the US, but definitely warmer than the pool, ocean or air. The free services at the spa also have an indoor heated hot tub-women only though!
