Trip Report, Jost Van Dyke, BVI, September 16, 2007

A mini trip report which was actually a day trip Pam and I took while we were in the USVI and BVI.

This is White Bay located on the BVI of Jost Van Dyke. If you go there be sure and drink a Painkiller which I will recommend ordering from the Soggy Dollar Bar:

Thanks for the photo... one of my favorite places in the Caribbean.
I personally like the entire area including St. Thomas, St. Johns, and of course all the other little nearby islands.

I agree with you about it being one your favorite places in the Caribbean as this place really made an impression on me.

Next time we go, we will stay on St. John and do day trips to Jost and Tortola. Little more laid back than St. Thomas and away from the cruise ship people except those doing day trips to snorkel on St. John.

We considered White Bay when we were planning on our 25th anniversary trip - I thought it could be a romantic, tent on the beach kind of thing.

Ended up going to the Albatros Royale in Playa and Los Lirios on the Tulum beach road instead.

That looks beautiful- thanks for sharing! I'd love to go back to the BVI sometime. We were staying on St. John a few years back and took the ferry over to Tortola for the day. Loved it! (much more than the USVI, even though St. John is beautiful...) The people were so friendly on Tortola and we had fun at Bomba's Shack. His full moon party must be something else.

I read that the juice really makes it quite an experience

I LOVE white bay! One of my best trips ever was a solo stay at Sandcastle back in '94 for 8 days in a beachfront rondele...back before the place had 'lectricity and there was no road from Great Harbor. So the Soggy Dollar was really a place of soggy dollars... Slept in a hammock most nights, had never seen so many stars. Became addicted to KC's painkillers. Lost track of the day and date. Attended a Full Moon party at Bomba Shack....roni...it's not the juice (tho the rum punch is awesome) but the mushroom tea.

good times

Thank you for posting the pics!! Love those trips down memory lane

roni,
You can't go wrong with the Riviera Maya.

You probably figured it out that it was really 9 or 10 individual pictures put together using Microsoft Paint. The very low-tech approach.
