Recs like La Cueva del Chango

Can't seem to post in the food forum, figured I'd try here...
We're returning to paradise for the third time, in December, we'll be staying in Xpu-ha. Can't wait! I am trying to narrow down dining options. Last year, someone here recommended La Cueva del Chango. We loved it and couldn't get enough, I think we went back 4 more times before heading home. We will definitely go back this trip, but I am also interested to hear about any other restaurants equally as good, charming, etc. We'll have a rental, so getting around is no problem. Would consider anything in or around Playa. Thanks!

We love to eat at Babes & Carboncitos (that goes without saying) ...Also had lunch at Karma Bagel which was good. Ate at La Palapa Hemingway & was not blown away but other people like it.

Bip Bip was yummy too...Had good Lasagna of all things... Great lunch at Playa Maya!

We tried La Palapa Hemingway on our first trip, it was fine, but not worthy of a return visit. I'll keep the others in mind...

La Pesca, across the street from Mega, killer, shrimp soup, the one under the specials, not under the sopas

HC de Monterrey, On 1st I think to the south of Juarez, arrecherra nacionale

La Tarraya, on the beach, great Guac, fish sandwhices and french fries

Hole in the wall, near the Eclipse hotel, everything is good

We liked 10 a lot. It on Fifth, on the north end. The food is really great. But the bar next door plays very noisy music.

Ditto on Babes and La Pesca. A favorite of mine for cheap eats is Dr Taco.

"Alux" is a restaurant bar in a cave. I've never eaten there, but it's great for having a "pre/post dinner" drink.
