lil g .... please do NOT have this lift. also, many places no longer do this procedure because fo the problems and complaints. i work with many plastic & cosmetic surgeons and this is what i have been told. explore other options (dermal fillers for wrinkles) whenever possible. or just bite the bullet & get a real 'lift'. it may cost more, but it'll be worth it in the long run.

Are you guys effing CRAZY?!?!?

Sweetheart, both you and Donna are BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL women! After brunch a couple of weeks ago, Kelli and I were talking about how gorgeous the two of you are!

WHY FIX IT IF IT AIN'T BROKE!!!

My personal belief that that the TRUE nature of a woman's beauty comes from her heart and her mind, BUT... Even on a more "objective" basis - you and Donna are young a beautiful, and there is NO reason for either of y'all to get a lift of any kind!

Yippeee!! I got the staples out today!

I am very glad to get those little suckers off my head. I am starting to itch now. All of the incisions are healing and driving me crazy. No scratching allowed! things are healing nicely. I still have a lot of swelling and fluid in my face but I can see the preliminary results on my uppper eyelids.

I don't have to wear the bandages all of the time and that gives me some relief. My hair is kind of a wreck from the bandages.

This has been quite an adventure but I am very glad that I did it. The surgery and anesthesia were much less difficult and scary than I was expecting. I can honestly say that the conscious sedation worked very well and I would do it again tomorrow. Because this is a very unique experience, I am glad that I remember some of it. It makes for great story telling! And, it really helped to conquer fear or nervousness. Trust the doctor - he really knew what he was doing! (I am not a very trusting person by nature. I can always find some gloom and doom to muddy up my frame of mind)

I am looking forward to the next parts of the adventure. Next week the swelling should be down some more and I hope I'll be able to start to see my new face!

If you are thinking about any of these procedures, don't be afraid of the process. just make sure you have a doctor that you trust and like.

FWIW, I may be a bit biased, but when it comes to surgery... The quality of your anesthsia care makes ALL the difference in the world!

So glad to hear you're doing well!! The part of surgery that scares me most has always been anesthesia. Pain I can deal with. Didn't know they used conscious sedation on stuff like this.

If you have a good medical team, don't worry about the sedation, etc. I have had NO pain and even though I can remember some of the procedure, it was NOT a problem while they were working on me. Interesting that I can remember more of what happened during the procedures than I can immediately after. At least I didn't have to pee! That was one thing that I wondered about since I have to pee a lot!

Now, I guess it's just a waiting game. I go back to the doctor next week and I will ask him if he can give me a timeframe for the "final product". I have always had a problem with swelling and how long it takes to go away. I guess I will have to be patient because there is nothing I can do to hurry this process.

*if* you are looking for some way to help with the swelling, Manual Lymph Drainage massage (MLD) is the best!!! seriously, it made such a huge difference after i had my tummy tuck 7 years ago.... lost 8lbs of water in the first 2 days! i had tried everything possible to help with the swelling, and this is the only thing that made a difference. my mom just had extensive plastic surgery on saturday, and she went in for the MLD 3x before the surgery to get things flowing well.. she's definitely swollen, but nothing like she would have been. heck, i'm going to go in for one appointment before my c-section next week... it really helps your body heal better when your lymph system is in top working order!

it might take some doing to find a massage therapist near you who is certified for MLD, but if you're interested, it's definitely worth it!!

Something to make you smile! Maxxie is doing much better. Cancer is in remission, but white blood count still low. Otherwise he's enjoying life, walking three miles at the park, is more interested in "fishy" foods i.e. cod, salmon, tuna, sardines, than meat. Must be the chemo that changed his taste buds.
