catalonia royal tulum vs sandos select club?

So, I'm looking for a good last min deal in November.

CRT is only $20 more per person than Sandos Select Club. Which would you recommend?
I'll be traveling with my 2 sons, 12 and 15. My girlfriend and her 14yr old son. We plan to put the boys into one room and we'll share the other. Hopefully we can get ajoining rooms. Do you know if either or both of these resorts have ajoining rooms?

I'll also be staying an extra week and my boyfriend will be joining me. We can either stay where I stayed for the first week or move to another resort. I'd like a little romance and pampering that week.

We all like smaller resorts so that the boys can go ahead to eat or to the pool and we don't have to worry too much about how far ahead of us they are. We always eat as a family but after dinner we girls like to linger and the boys want to be off to the room or the arcade. Do either of the resorts have an arcade?

We also really like the beach and snorkeling. I'd love to be able to snorkel right in front of the resort but we do plan on a day or 2 in Akumal. Last year we stayed at The Cat Yucatan and it was wonderfull. I just wished the beach was bigger as I love to take long walks along the beach.

I'm not really a foodie but I do enjoy a great meal. The boys are mostly happy with nachos, burgers, tacos and such. We all loved the crapiery at the Cat last year. For the second week I'd like a few great meals and know we'll be traveling off the resort to sample some local cuisine.

Thanks in advance.

I can't answer your other questions, but I don't think you will have much of a problem if your rooms are not adjoining. As long as you are next door, right? I was worried about not having adjoining rooms and I found out there really wasn't anything to fret about.

Sandos Select Club? Do you mean at Sandos Caracol Beach? Sandos Playacar Beach is closed through December 1st so if you're traveling in Nov, you can't be speaking of that resort.
If you are speaking of Caracol, I would have to say that the Catalonia Royal Tulum would be a better choice all around.

Yes, it's the Sandos Caracol. The select club is an upgrade from what I've been able to find out. I'm not sure just what the upgrades are however.
