Minneapolis Cheap Airfare Question?
I have been watching for Minneapolis-Cancun, or Minneapolis-Cozumel cheap airfare for January or Febuary. I have seen some great deals from last August through December but was wondering if those great deals will still be there in Jan. and Feb. (possibly peak season for Mexican travel.) I have been watching Hobbittravel, MLT, and Funjet.
Are there any people out there from Minnesota that can help me? Or any other websites with cheap deals? |

This year there were some pretty good deals. That probably had something to do with the fact that we had a pretty mild winter well into January. I didn't see very many cheap flights in 2006 though. If you are flexible as to where you stay and when you go, you can take the risk. We book our flights well in advance to get the dates we want and so that we can stay where we want to stay.
I'm not sure if that helps or not. Good luck

We ALWAYS book our vacations through the website www.worryfreevacations.com and they have some great deals. We dont normally book until 2-4 weeks before our actual departure date as that is when you can get the best deals. We have gotten as low as $129 a person round trip and usually can get in for $200 or less per person round trip.

We flew them last year and they were great. (Especially when Craig lost the laptop and they allowed him to get off the plane to find it) The best part is non stop flights. I just checked with Worry Free, and they came in at 944.00 Last edited by patfstich; 10-16-2007 at 02:23 PM. |

I usually wait until 4-6 weeks before looking for cheap flights from MSP to Cancun thru Worry Free Vacations. I have booked almost all my flights to Cancun this way!! You can sign up for their weekly email which shows their cheap flights for the upcoming 4-6 weeks. The email comes late on Monday night and you can book your flight at midnight. I have found that if I am flexible in my dates and don't mind traveling during the week (vs the weekend) I can get a much better deal. If you are traveling January/February, start looking for those deals late in November. Good luck!!

If you're traveling in early January and like to live on the edge, there are often firesales on many of the sites two weeks in advance. I'm leaving on Jan 6 and decided not to risk it. I booked with Continental last week for $446. There's a stop in Houston, but the itinerary still beats the morning departure from Cancun with Suncountry. I just hate having to leave the condo by 7AM. Everyone is saying there is less capacity this year. I was going to book with NW but they went up $100 overnight.
Good luck! |

I uaually travel with my sister's family. We book 4-5 months early. She doesn't have the flexability that I have so we usually pay $450-$500. I know it's crazy but she needs the security for the kids. Royal Villas. I agree that if you wait for a last minute deal, you will be able to find a flight with taxes under $250. She not going to Playa this fall so her husband and I may do a last minute deal. The youngest child is going to St. Thomas Acadamy and their break is over St. Pat's day. I need my break early to mid February. Hope it works for ya.

I usually get my tickets in late August or early September.
I use Kayak.com to check flights and also use their matrix to see when the deals are likely to appear. They graph past highs and lows on ticket prices for your destination. Very useful. I bought our tickets an NW for $765, round trip for two, non-stop. I wouldn't mind wating till the last minute if Erik's schedule was more flexible. Also, the hotels we really like are small and tend to fill up very early. |

I use Cheap Airline Tickets, Discount Hotels, Airfare, Cheap Flights, Air Travel - SideStep to look for all my tickets all over thwe world, like kayak they have a great matrix, but I like sidestep better because they go to all the sites even the ones you never think of going to! I found my ticket to Coz for 560.00,could have gotten it for 430.00 but had a 4 and a half hour layover for that price, and had I known I could fly into Cancun cheaper i would have problaby went with that, but most were 7am flight times and two hour layovers in Dallas! For the extra 120.00 no layovers and I get o ride a pretty boat in from Coz! next year it will be a bit cheaper, but this is my first trip so no worries!
