Wedding Advice Needed - Playa
My fiance and I are looking at a destination wedding in Mexico. Playa has struck us a fun place. We will have around 40 guests with us and are looking at Oct. of 2008. Is this a good time of year to go? Do you have to worry about hurricanes at all? The RIU Palace Riveria Maya is what I am leaning towards at this point. Has anyone had a wedding there or can suggest another resort. We would like to stay at an all inclusive, but are flexible. Also is Cancuun the airport to use? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!!!

i would suggest you come down for a short visit to check it out no one can promise no bad weather, but it is the last month of hurricane season i like october..not so hot...nice evenings...and the breeze is back yes...more than likely Cancun, however, some folks fly into Cozumel. |

I would check our Playa Palms. They have had tons of wedding at their beach front over the years.
It is also a very nice place to stay for small groups like yours. Your group will feel like the have the whole place to themselves. Playa Palms Beach Boutique Hotel | Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Mexico | Home |

Before you make that trip, get the maps from Hotels, Resorts, Cheap Hotels, Discount Hotels, Vacation Packages. They are pure gold and are the best travel guides for the Yucatan. The dining options in PDC are extensive and very good. Fifth Avenue, or La Quinta, is a perfect place to spend a day shopping, eating and enjoying to local scene. In addition, the day trips offered by playa.info are first rate and will give you and your guests a day to remember. |

Thank you all so much for the help!!! I wish we could go down earlier, but our budget won't allow for it. We live in Nebraska and flights are not cheap from here. I am so looking forward to this trip and I am so glad that I found this site!
Thanks Again!!! |

We all have to live within our budgets. But honey, this is YOUR special day. Do what you can to make sure that it is as special for your guests as it is for you. The wedding day is all about the bride and the groom. However, it is also the bride and groom's responsibility to provide a suitable venue. This is especially true when are expecting people to travel for you. A quick three day stay with you focused on the resort and wedding preparations should be within budget if you expect 40 guests to attend.

Frontier usually has good deals from Denver. They fly to Cancun from Kansas City, too, but I don't know what the prices are like. |
