Day 3
Day 3
Chris wakes up hung-over…thinking about food -weird. It is only 6:30. We lay there a little and Chris goes out to get some OJ. She brings some back and I chug mine. I am super dehydrated-understandable after last night. But not really feeling hung-over-whew! Must have been the two espressos I hade last night. We drag out of bed and it is another beautiful day in paradise. We walk over to Las Mananitas on 5th and eat. It is just okay a little bland, but suffices for now. The coffee however was very good. We stop and get some more water-a big four gallon jug at the little store on Calle 6 and we are back to the room, get ready and off to the beach.
After a few hours we headed to Java Joes for lunch. <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on">Turkey</st1:country-region> and cheese and ham and cheese sandwiches hit the spot. They are always good there. We walked back to the Fusion for a little more sun. After a while Chris wanted to explore a little. She wanted to find this pollo asado place James was talking about and also wanted to look for HH Monterrey where they have the awesome aracherra. So we head off down the street to Calle 2 and 20th. It looks like the pollo asado place is shutting down for the afternoon, but we know where it is now. Off to HH Monterrey. They are packed. Good thing we are not hungry now-there are people waiting everywhere to get a table. It smells wonderful and looks even better. Can’t wait to come back and try this place!
Went home showered and napped until about 9:30. We had no desire to drink but we were hungry, and just wanted a snack. We walked down 5th and stopped at this superpanaderia and walked in to get some chips or something. They hade a bunch of pastries and bread type things. They also had tamales so we grabbed a few of them, some chips and a couple of cokes. Easy and only four bucks. The tamales were actually pretty good. Chris is eager to compare them to the ones Heather raves about at La Casita de los Guisos. But they only have them on weekends so that will have to wait. Back to bed by 12:30. Not real exciting today, but we needed some rejuvenation
