Don't you think that's something Vanessa oughtta do?
You might freak out Nan unnecessary.
Just a thought.

I am amazed at the skill, care and patience that you scuba instructors consistently display with your students. It is an amazing thing to watch a skilled instructor "do his/her thing" with a new student. Hats off to you, Paulo and all other dedicated caring scuba pros around the world!!!!

He is awesome
BUT NO PRESSURE, STEWIE!

Seriously, V will be just fine. We had a nice relaxed dinner last night, hung out with Jez, JJ... Chilled. Everything was great.

. . .

I inflated both our BCDs, took her belt off, inflated the surface marker buoy and Marco, my magnificent skipper was on us a couple of minutes later even if he had been picking up another group some 200 yards up current.

Vanessa took to diving like a fish to water, she has all the time she needs to decide when (not if) she will return.
No question Vanessa was a natural. I was watching her on the second dive and she was doing just GREAT! She was relaxed, managed her buoyancy, started using her fins more and her hands less... She'll be back in the water in no time. You could tell she was "bit" by the scuba bug. She is going to be a fantastic diver - I'd be pleased to dive with her any time.

And yeah, on to Marco. Man - that guy is great! He is a real pro. Truly an admiral among captains!

Vanessa called Nan. Every thing is good, she didn't freak out.

THANK YOU ALL for the comments!! They are really helping me pull throught the mental aspect of all this. Last night I was thinking that there was NO WAY I could go back. And then after an fabulous dinner at Chicago Don Jose's (thanks Stewart) I took a 10 hour nap and now I feel absolutely refreshed. I did go and call Nan (Mom) this morning so she could hear my voice. She said I soundy raspy (I've always wanted a Demi Moore voice).

I also wanted to clarify that I hope that my post doesn't discourage anyone from trying this!! I had a fanastic exerience and Paulo is the BEST instuctor in the world. I guess I can say that since I don't have anyone to compare him too. But honestly, there is no one else that I'd rather dive with. Oh yeah..and he did hold my hand too!

So, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm doing better today! Like I said last night, I didn't think there was a hell of chance of me doing it again, but today I'm leaning more towards giving it another shot.

The pro's say you're a natural, so it would be silly not to give it another shot!
