IB/Quetzal Booze Question

Wondering if non Mexican liquors are included in the "All Inclusive" @ IB Quetzal. Have a "Rum Snob" in our group who will be looking for Captain's Morgan Rum.

I guess now that I think about it, not sure if I want to spend much time swigging swill in my Caribbean Cocktails either , don't need any help with the hangovers. Maybe Mexican Liquors aren't bad but don't want to find out the hard way.

Booze we would prefer- Vodka (Absolute) Rum(Cpt Morgans, Bacardi)
Gin (Beefeaters, Bombay).

Thanks again everybody, should be done with these questions by later on today as we should be booking.

As far as I recall, all the booze (incl. international) is included.
Can't recall which brands they ran, though, sorry.
I stuck to the local stuff, mostly (can you say tequila? ). International stuff I can have anywhere.

Absolute, Bacardi and Beefeaters for sure at the lobby bars and the entertainment area bar...Not at the bars near the pools or the beach though. They also had a Cuban Rum that I heard was very good. Hubby drinks Jack Daniels and they had it only at the "evening" type bars as well.

That's what I liked about the "Cat" Any kind you wanted at any bar. Also as much in a drink as you wanted. Best bang for your money in the Riviera Maya. Oh yeah, we have been to the Tucan/Quetzal and can speak from experience. What was said here previous is true. Top shelf drinks are only available at the lobby bars of both sides and the shared entertainment bar in the evening. All and all I still think you will have a wonderful time. We enjoyed this resort very much(just found the "Cat" much better with more things to do). Have fun and enjoy!!

Been here and can't remember if they had the Capt. Morgans. This is my favorite too, however, I got hooked on the Bacardi Ron Anejo. It's spiced rum, and I loved it so much I bought a couple bottles to bring home. Yummy!

Call and top shelf liquors are included at IB Tucan/Quetzal, but the selection is limited. My husband is a "whiskey" snob and while they had many brands, they did not have his. They did not (in May of 07) have Capt. Morgan, but I think they did have Sailor Jerry's or some other brand. Don't really remember. I know they did have Tanqueray and Bombay gins, though!

I don't remember what brands of liquors they have. I do remeber they have higher grades/brand names at the bars up front, and less premium brands near the pools. The drinks are also stronger up front by the lobby vs. the pool bars (my opinion). As for your friends that require a certain brand of liquor, here's my logic. When in Rome, do as the Romans. Tell them to drink what is available and just enjoy their vacation. I am a diehard Budweiser drinker, but in Mexico, I drink it all. Some good beers, some bad. While we roam around and shop PDC, I wander into the local corner shops and buy what ever beer has a lable that looks inviting. I have had to choke down a couple, and one I even threw away, but I tried it. Why go 1000 miles from home to do the same things you do at home. I try different foods too. Last year, I got sick for about 24 hours, and my wife said "I told you not to eat that." I don't think it was the food, but I can say it wasn't either. Oh well, I tried it and I enjoyed it at the time. It's all good as long as you live another day. I will do the same this year, come March 6.

They had a biggish selection of rum and some 10 and 15yr old ones also if i recall correctly.
I also remember them having Jack Daniels,Jim Beam,Johnny Walker red label Absolute Vodka,,Smirnoff vodka ,Pernod plus a load of other top name brands that i cant remember the names of.
All of these were in the lobby bars

They did NOT have Red Bull in May. Someone more recent may be able to help. I think they did have some sort of energy drink, but it wasn't RB.
