Day 4
Our TV in the room turned itself on at 7:00 AM again this morning. Someone must have set it to automatically come on at 7:00 AM. That actually works out just fine for us. For some reason or another I had a hard time getting up and going today. DD got right up and went for her walk with Missy. I eventually got up and went for my run on the beach. Yea, I now know that beaches are for drinking and lounging around on. It was very windy today and I had to cut my run a little short as the waves were really coming up on the shore and I didn’t think I should be running on the porches of the cabana’s at Shangri-La Caribe to stay out of the water.
Today was the first day that the chair Nazi (that’s what DD calls him) didn’t try to run us away from the Playa Maya. I guess now being the fourth day here he has finally figured out that we really are staying here. Every other day he came up to us and showed us his little sign that says that the chairs are only for guests that are staying at the Playa Maya. I think he must see us talking with M & M at the Alhambra and thinks that we are staying there.
We ate breakfast with M&M at the Alhambra today. I had their Mexican plate. It was two fried eggs with some red sauce and vegetables, refried beans, some chips, lettuce, toast and juice. It was pretty good. DD had the fruit plate and toast.
After breakfast we pretty much hung out at the Playa Maya all day. We had lunch there with M & M. We had the coconut shrimp, some shrimp tacos and a chicken shish kabob. It was all pretty good. The girls and I each had a Bahama mama. We hadn’t had one yet this trip and they were very good.
The Playa Maya beach had lots of playa.info peeps stop by today and visit. I saw Karen and David, but they took off before we got a chance to visit with them. I think I saw xqqzme. Later Playbum17, Trish, Doggiemom and wildfan stopped by. I talked with them a bit and got a picture with Playabum17. Figured I needed one since we see her everyday, and we did, even the last morning. MNAnnie and her husband Bob are here too with Bob’s cousin and his wife (I hope I remembered that right). Anyway I talked with MNAnnie quite a bit, she’s a really nice gal that we met last year too. Jmac and her husband were also staying there. We didn’t recognize them at the time, met them later at the Mad Hatters event (nice hat Jmac).
Here's a picture of Playabum17 and Wildfan (Playabum, Trish and Doggiemom's cabana boy)
Here’s a pic of Playbum17 and me.
We went to Los Rancheros for drinks and appetizers. Missy wanted to try a roof top place once. We ordered some coconut shrimp and cheese mushroom dip thing with tortillas. M&M also had a Caesar salad. The coconut shrimp was OK, but it was not nearly as good as it is at the Playa Maya. After that we wandered around town and stopped at at the HOT bakery for a little dessert. We continued around town exploring the north end. We swung by the Luna Blue and met Tony and Cheri. They are as nice in person as they are on playa.info. We then stopped at an excellent Ice cream place on the east side of 10th just north of Calle 8.
This place has the best ice cream in town that we have found. After that we went to M &M's hotel room and visited with them on their balcony for a while.
I played with the night shot scene on my camera and here are a couple pics I took.
