Ethics violations are ethics violations. I doesn't matter which party. Gingrich has shown he is not to be trusted. The bipartisan ethics panel voted 7-1 against him. One of the Congressional leaders condemning Gingrich was Republican Lindsay Graham.

After ensuing weeks of fractious partisan wrangling, the ethics committee held an open hearing Jan. 17 during which independent counsel James Cole laid out his case. Six hours later, the committee went behind closed doors where members voted 7-1 in favor of the punishment.

So you condemn the actions of the Clintons, Mr. Kennedy and Byrd just to name a few then...glad to see you are consistant.

He's a pompous ass.
He is all about bringing attention to himself.
If you are ever within 100 yards of him, you'll know it.
He's the real loud one, even if he isn't talking to anyone in the crowd, because he's on his cell making sure everyone knows it.
How do I know.
I was in an airport waiting to catch a flight.
Lot's of noise walked by, it was Newt, his wife trailing him.

With that said, he is very smart, and does not wear blinders like a lot of conservatives.

He disagrees with most of the previous Congress handling of the war, probably disagrees with the current Congress as well, as I do on both counts.

He's in agreement there is a problem with man-made pollution and something has to be done. Not sure I agree with his proposed solutions, but someone has to pay for it.

With that said, I would not vote for him.

That is true, but he also does have more ideas before breakfast than most of us do.

In fact, how many of us would had the idea to go tell our cancer-ridden wife that we were going to divorce her ass while she was still in the hospital?

But Gingrich is a bright guy. More intelligence than good judgment, though.

If he had the political skills that Bill Clinton did, he would not have had his ass handed to him in those political battles so often;

Gingrich does have to support himself, so I do not begrudge him his little empire, even if he is hitching a ride on Al's wagon on this environment thing. He is smart enough to do that. Mebbe he'll be Al's running mate in 8 years

Sad thing is, he'd probably have been better than the current one.
Doubt we would be in Iraq right now.

Do you know the details behind this? I dont. But i dont know people who have done similar things because to them it made financial sense. Everyones different. My brothers girlfriend of 8 years has some serious health issues, they have never married because the financial cost to my brother and his business would be staggering. Some people would disagree with it and others wouldnt.

I have a relative who works at an airport.

Newt missed his flight once. He told a feller at the ticket counter to hold the plane.

Feller told him that was impossible- plane had already left the gate.

Newt said "Do you know who I am?"

Feller said "Know who you are? Hell, I voted against you twice!"

They had a good laugh, this feller and Newt, and then the feller helped him get on the next available flight.

I think Newt would be a fine guy to sit around and talk with while drinking coffee, but then I have been hanging out around college professors for a long, long time. Given my druthers, I would choose BonnyW, but Newt would be ok.

Well, it could have been Barr - no, Barr was the anti-abortion religious right winger who tried to get his wife or girl friend to get an abortion. You'll have to excuse me, but I keep getting these family values guys confused.

Can't tell the players apart without a scorecard, you know.

I wonder what will be the 'next big thing' after all this green trend burns out after a few years running with no more Katrina-scale crises?

Just curious.

(hey kirbyfan, you're still giving people a hard time about Wiki links? Still not clear on the whole 'Wiki pages actually have links to the right links' notion?)
