But I bet it's really hard to write your initials on a Wheat Thin with that stuff. Squeez Cheez will always be the champ for that!

I'll take that as a challenge. But then, I am a professional. One six pack of Dos Equis and I can pee my name in a snowbank. No initials either....the whole name.

Here's mine:

Cook some ground beef (1-2 lbs - or you can use strip loin) with a chopped onion and a few tablespoons of chili powder
Drain
Then add:
  • 2 cans of diced tomatoes (I use Alymers accents "for chili" already has some seasonings in them)
  • 2 cans of scarpones mixed beans - drained
  • 1 can of pork and beans
  • 1 can of whole mushrooms - drained
  • 1 can of kernel corn
  • 1 can of tomato soup
Mix it all together and once it is simmering add:
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp molasses
  • More chili powder to taste. I add 2 more Tbsp but you can add more if you like it hot. We like it quite mild.
Tastes better the second day. Let us know what you make and how it works out!

We had 13 tomato plants this summer, and you can't eat that many, and we don't can anything, so we made chili.....get the Bush brand chili starter, and follow the directions, adding all the good stuff that they don't include......, more cumin, green chili's, green peppers,onions....lot's oh tomatoes!
For meat, we went a local butchershop, that makes our state fair champion bratwurst, and bought some of those for one of the batches, used their chicken bratwurst for another 2-3 batches, last year they made a chicken sausage with basil and tomato, that we used in chili......also, use some black beans in the mix, ground beef just doesn't cut it when you can go to Karl's Country Market!
We froze about 4 gallons of chili in late August/September, tonight had 10 of us here for Halloween, and had chili! Took the chill of the cool evening here!

Bush's white bean chicken recipe is ok, but find one on line that adds even more to it.......and grill the chicken breasts on your charcoal grill, or get one of those broasted chickens for $5 from Sams club for the chicken meat....

Here's my fast chili recipe...it's a "dump" recipe:

1 pound ground beef, browned, then drained

add in:
1 medium onion, chopped
3 tsp minced garlic
3 T chili powder
3 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp red pepper

Cook til onion is tender

Dump in (no need to drain):
1 large can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
1 med can (14 oz) pinto beans
1 small can of diced green chiles
1 small can tomato sauce
1/2 bottle of beer

Simmer 2 hours

this recipe is making my mouth water. Next time I make chili, which may be very soon, I will use green chiles. I usually add bell pepper, but green chiles will taste better.

I hope it comes out okay! Some people like more salt, others more chili powder or red pepper... those measurements are kind of medium for each... you can adjust as you like it
