In the Caribbean the Christmas season starts when the hurricane season ends. That's officially December 1st, but since Dr. Jeff announced today that the hurricane season was actually over, we decided to jump right in.

First, we decided we were missing the consumer-oriented, decoration-laden, musically accompanied faux Dickensian atmosphere of the all-American Christmas season. So, we booked an upcoming weekend in ... Disney World! Mickey's Christmas Party, Mickey's Christmas Parade, snow on Main Street, candlelight processionals, and store after store chock full of the latest "must have" items for the holiday. We're so excited we can barely sleep at night. The Merriest Place on Earth here we come. Woo Hoo!!

Next, we organized our 125 (we counted) Christmas CDs. Our taste in Christmas music runs the gamut from James Brown to Amy Grant, from Less than Jake to the Carpenters, from Jethro Tull to Travis Tritt, and from the Beach Boys to Boyz II Men. We have it all, and we're going to listen to every single one of them from now until the New Year. Call us crazy, but we love Christmas music.

Firstly, it is NEVER too early to watch a Charlie Brown Christmas....anything that can make you feel so warm and holiday toasty should be watched ALL year round.
Secondly, I am SOOOOO jealous that you two are headed to Disney! I LOVE that Holiday Party!!!! Disney TRULY knows how to bring on the Holidays!

We're decortating this weekend. My daughter is coming home from college for the weekend to help. We'll make some appetizers and put the tree up Saturday night as a family and have a few beers/shirley temples and enjoy!!
I can't wait!! There is a pampers ad out that is all these sleeping babies with the "Silent night" in the background. I just love it!! One of my fav carols, can't wait to dig out the cd's and start the season!!
