So, Your Honour, Guv, sir, you're saying that the fine and costs imposed on the Met Police will take away funds that could better be used in policing London (In deciding on a penalty, the judge said he was aware that a heavy fine would result in a loss to the public purse and a reduction in essential policing).... what about the Met admitting to their mistake in the first place thus saving the British taxpayer the even bigger amount spent on the court case?!
