I agree that relationships with moms are very complex. I was at the doctor's office and there was an elderly woman, she must have been in her late 80's; her daughter brought her in for a flu shot. Her daughter was trying advise her to use another blanket, and Grammy just snapped, "You should come over and watch me sleep." Apparently, she was upset because she wanted to see and doctor and the daughter kept telling her that they needed to make an appointment. I just remembered how lucky I was that my mom didn't get wild like that in public places...just at home.
