What's the latest on the ADO bus from the airport
Does anyone (that's recently gone to Playa) know if the ADO bus (headed to Playa) can be gotten from any terminal at CUN or do I need to take a shuttle to one specific terminal?
![]() Thanks.........and yes, I've done a recent search. ![]()

If you fly into terminal 3, head toward the exit past the booths that are calling out to you and go to the last booth, which has an ADO sign. Buy a ticket, then head outside past the Coconuts booth (or stop if you want to pay big $ for a drink) and head to the first bus parking spot. That's the ADO spot. Someone there can tell you when it's due to arrive if it isn't already there. After picking up at terminal 3, they drive over to terminal 2 for additional pickups. Total trip from Cancun to Playa took about 50 minutes.

Now for all I know this is exactly what the bus does. And perhaps on the day I caught the bus when it came back to terminal 2 there were no more passengers (cos we were all already on the bus) and so it did not stop and I did not notice we had just taken a loop and returned back to terminal 2. I also did not notice the bus stop at terminal 3, but then again there may have been no one waiting for the bus at that stop either. Last edited by Michael; 11-03-2007 at 02:40 PM.. |

We did exactly as Judy did to catch the bus at Terminal 3, but the bus did not stop at Terminal 2 before heading to Playa.
Now, upon taking the bus for our return flight, the bus stopped at Terminal 2. We did not ask if it went on to Terminal 3 because, well, I don't know why we didn't ask. We took a shuttle from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 for our departure.

....but the important point here is that in Mexico there is nothing as sure as change. If you see someone with the ADO uniform or at an ADO kiosk, ask them. When I got out of terminal 2, I was uncertain that the bus would even show up like it used to. (I see so much incorrect info on this site, I now doubt everything I read here) and so I asked the first ADO person I saw and then waited with some confidence that the bus would actually show up. ![]() If I was to catch the bus again, I'd do the same thing; ask the first ADO person I meet on the way to the bus. For all you know, the route could have been changed that morning. And if you can't find any ADO employees that is not a good sign. ![]() My son arrives at CUN tomorrow (terminal 2; and I know this cos I just checked on Wiki). Thankfully his ability to mule something down to Playa earned him a free airport pick up.
