Help! Need creative ideas to get into Amazing Race 13

I asked this question in the Amazing Race thread but thought it might not get any answers.
My husband and my son are going go to fill out the application for Amazing Race 13. We need help coming up with a video that would get them noticed.
A little background, they are a step-father/step-son team. My son is 6'6" and my husband is 5'6". We thought that might be comical to use somehow. We have a couple ideas but we want something to WOW the selection committee. They really want to do this.
If anyone has any ideas we would love to hear them. Let your creative genius flow!

I would think that the difference in height would be enough......

I was thinking the same thing. Make sure theres a shot in the clip showing the difference. May be Mike W can check with his friends to see what worked for them.

Knowing them I'd have to guess it was their personalities. I don't know what they put on their applications or on their video. I guess the producers want the type of interaction between teammates and between contestants that will make for good television.

Edit: I don't know what they did and I won't get and answer if I asked them. They cannot talk about anything until everything is over and the winners are announced. Knowing them there were no gimics. No need for gimics, I'm sure their personalities showed through without even trying.

Let me toss some of our ideas at you guys.
We are going to start the video with a close up. My husband will be resting his hand on my son's shoulder. It will look like they are the same height at first until we pull back and then you see my husband standing on a crate.
The maybe a quick little obstacle course set up with son carrying my husband on his back. I was thinking of doing it the other way around but I dont want my husband to get hurt before anything even gets started!
Come on guys. They really want to do this and with the amount of people that submit applications it must be very hard to be chosen.

good start! maybe see if there is a "semi-professional' videographer in your area - maybe a young person from one of the high schools or something who could help with ideas as well as the technical side of things??

and maybe you could add some things so that you show the difference in height as an asset... not just a comic thing, although that's a great "hook"... love your idea for the beginning pan out...

I wish there was some place to view past audition videos. It says that they are supposed to tell a little about themselves also. Don't know how much talking they should do.
MikeW, any advise you can get from your friends?

check You Tube, I just did and a lot popped up-also-google "amazing race audition tapes" more there you can look at for ideas

Wanted to update everyone.
Video is on it's way out, along with the 13 page application, passport photos and a picture of my guys together.
I will keep you all posted but if they choose on the video alone, they don't have a snowballs chance in $#@&! Expept for the original idea, and a few cute quips, it's pretty boring.
Hopefully the first stepfather/ step son team will intrigue them enough. There apllications have some funny stuff too but ........ Keeping our fingers crossed.

But, I guess it will be worth it if they get in.

Thanks everyone, the more fingers crossed the better!
I was just in panic mode.I had the package all set to go out to California overnight to get there Monday and found out at 5:00pm that UPS had no pick-ups or deliveries today (WTF!). Had to schedule a Saturday pick-up! That's gonna hurt!
