The web cam is in a protective housing. The lens has to look through a tinted cover, much like looking through sunglasses. While this darkens the image, it does prevent glare.

The placement has another "problem," which is the new four story building just south of Playa Palms, which casts an afternoon shadow. It cannot be faced north on the beach, since trees would block the view. The palapa roof on the building kept us from putting it high enough to see over the trees. We are working on a solution that will allow a higher placement.

Thank you! I can usually be found at PGs on Fridays and sporadically on Saturdays at Bad Boyz (depends on my Saturday workload...last one I was in the office until 6.30 pm).

BTW, I was TOTALLY kidding about the "vote for me thing."

My friend Adam and his lovely girlfriend Martina are on the beach at Playa Palms right now and in a few minutes are going to move closer to the cam. Can someone freeze a frame or two of them for me (I don't know how). Adam has dark bed head-type hair and tattoos and Martina has long reddish/brown hair and a big tattoo on her left arm. Both gorgeous people so don't be jealous that they're my friends and not yours.

Alt-PrtScreen (captures ACTIVE WINDOW into your clipboard as an image object)
Open Start/Accessories/Paint
Paste into Paint (or other photo editor)
Save As... Change type to JPG instead of the default BMP.

then you can open any graphics program (even Paint, under your accessories) and paste it there (Ctrl-V)
