that's not encouraged. load the page, watch it, close the page. needless bandwidth expenses aren't good for anyone, and it just causes me to spend more time coming up with security to circumvent people leaving it on all day. Plus we'll have to turn the refresh rate down.

umm, you mean you could tell if i left a window open with beach cam or rana cam running in it?? and the more people watching means more bandwidth which costs you more? i've no idea how expensive it is to run this stuff, and i'm not asking, but am curious to know if running the cams costs a lot or a little.

I had no idea it would cost you more $$ if it's running on my desktop. But if I'm logged off my computer, is it still running? I don't think so, as my computer automatically logs me off after 10 mins. of idleness. Then the desktop has to reload when I log back on. I don't want to cost anyone more money just to get my Playa fix, so James, please advise!!

I think what you want is the picture thats posted above as your background?? If so, just right click and choose "set picture as background" and that will change your background to the picture!
And as far as why more bandwidth is used when you keep a stream open, look at as if you had a car full of people, the more weight you have in the car the more gas it will burn, the less weight the less gas. if you constantly stream the video, it used more bits thus costing the customer(James) more money because he may have a certain amount of bandwidth that he can use per day or else the provider charges him more! |
