Dinner show in XCaret

We have been to Playa many times and have done several excursions. This year we will be there Thanksgiving week and cannot wait to have our butts in the seat of that airplane on our way! We mostly want to lounge this time, but have never seen XCaret. Upon research I have discovered that the day long trip is too much for us, but that there are dinner shows that sound beautiful. Does anyone know anything about them? Do I book them once we arrive at the resort? Should I be thinking about booking it now? If someone has a link that I can check into this I would appreciate any info or feedback on this excursion. Thanks,
Marianneand Mike

Oh we did this last year and had a blast. The show is absolutely incredible.
You are right a whole day is a bit much but here is what you do.
If you are staying in Playa then you do not have to book through the resort.
Hop in a taxi ( 20 min from Playa) in the afternoon ( 2pm) and buy your entrance tickets at the park gates. Your entrance fee includes the show.

Spend the daylight hours looking at the animal/aquatic exibits and/or snorkling the unground caves. A great way to cool off. Then grab a bite to eat at one of the park resturants and before you know it, showtime!

I had great time and learned the Myans invented hockey. You see what I mean.

We are going to do the same thing over Thanksgiving week. We have been to Xcaret before, but went in the morning with the kids and by 4pm we were all exhausted! This trip we will do the evening-only entrance fee and go for the specific reason of seeing the show. If we don't rent a car I think we'll taxi it there and back from Playa, although based on my earlier inquiry it seems that there is also an ADO bus that will get you there and back for the evening show.

BTW - are you guys going to come to the thanksgiving week (Nov 20th) peep meet? See the thread here: http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carm...et-8-30pm.html

Two obstacles......it's my sister's 40th, but she doesn't want anyone to know so I don't know yet if there's going to be a big party or not. And the other is my husband is planning on going to a conference in Puerto Rico during that week, on an all-expense paid trip. So I don't know yet what I'll be doing.
