Lobster

My husband and I like to cook, and are renting a condo. I have found the post on fish markets, but we are looking for a venue we can buy lobsters to prepare ourselves. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hmm...not too sure where you can buy fresh lobster in Playa. We never cook while in Playa because there are so many good restaurants to choose from. Maybe someone else here could answer you question?

you may want to go to Maine, pick some up and bring them down.
Playa is not known as lobster heaven
oh...and ours are "clawless"

Be nice to the newbie, and WELCOME newbie.
Babs is correct, Carribean (warm water) lobster is different than Maine lobster. You may even like it better, I don't, but in a stew with other stuff it's ok. And, we don't cook on vacation so I have no idea (idear in Maine) where to find them.

Pescaderia Oceano, on (I think...) Constituyentes between 30th and 35th Avenues.
I'll check the right address and come back to you.

Don't know if they carry lobster, but Oceano is located on the corner of Calle 34 and 35th Ave.

I really don't care for the lobster in Playa. I think it's kinda tough compared to Minnesota lobster.

Costco in Cancun had some large lobster tails last week. They were frozen and fairly expensive.

Al!

I think the way we'd go in Playa would be the lobster tail route as well....
If we really HAD to have a Punta Allen warm water lobster fix.

Lobsters and crab legs are predominately caught in COLD water - lobsters in New England/Canada and crab legs (at least the giant variety) in northern Pacific Ocean waters. If you find these in Playa, they will probably be of the frozen variety - and expensive.
There are so many delicious locally-caught fish that are fresh and a whole lot less expensive. Why don't you take advantage of the local catch?
