If you are a beginner snorkeler - I would suggest Akumal - there is lvery little coral to have to content with - and the outer reef protects the bayfrom alot of wave action. Half Moon Bay can be tricky if there is wave or current action - coral is VERY unfriendly to the human body if you crash into it!
