Los Cabos Trip Report
Once again, it's more pictures than stories, so here goes. We were invited there for a wedding so the first part of the trip we were in Cabo San Lucas in one of three houses that were rented in Pedregal, a gated community similar to Playacar Phase I, except it's all on hillsides and cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Every day there were activities planned, golfing and fishing for the boys, massages and beach clubbing for the girls. Each evening we'd all end up at the house playing poker or in the pool....so much fun!
This was the view from our room and our patio ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We hung out there for a couple days before the wedding, it was great to see alot of old college friends and just hang out. Cabo is a bit more on the expensive side than Playa, IMHO, and it's not easy to get around either....you pretty much have to rent a car. The wedding was on Saturday, it was on the 9th hole of a golf course overlooking the ocean.....spectacular views? Yes. Very windy? Yep, that too. The bride, groom, and minister thought the little gazebo thing would fall over any time![]() The ceremony was great, with one minor mishap.....they had asked for a unity goblet to pour two glasses of wine into, which was to be waiting on the sidelines with the wine. Well, no one bothered to check, and they ended up getting a carafe instead. You should have seen them try to drink out the carafe, but they (and everyone else) were laughing about it The wedding coordinator needed to be shot, but that's another story. It is beautiful, I feel kind of bad comparing it to Playa because it's apples and oranges...Pacific Ocean versus Caribbean. And I grew up on the Pacific in California so it'll always have a sentimental draw for me.....but after discovering Playa and setting foot in that warm Caribbean water there's no comparison

Las Ventanas
The day after the wedding most people were leaving, but a few of us stayed on. We had booked a room at Las Ventanas for our last two nights, and drove to San Jose Del Cabo where the resort is. It was nothing short of spectacular. I have so many pictures of this place, I'm going to have to figure out how to organize them, but here's a start.
This is the view from our room and our patio ![]() ![]() Breakfast would be brought to our room and served on our patio every morning at the time we selected. There are alot of fat little birds flying around waiting to attack your plate should you turn your back, so someone had to be outside at all times when the food was out. Very cute.![]() ![]() Every evening a guy would come in and build a fire in the fireplace for us, and return when the fire would go out, we could call and have him come back to build another one! We loved the telescope too and looking at the stars and little sliver of moon we had....what a great feature! Also, the first night we were there, we HEARD whales out in the distance. SO COOL.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

By the way, I don't know why I look so mad in that last picture......I didn't even know it was being taken
![]() ![]() Anyway, I'd made our reservation late so there were no king beds available. One became available the following day that was right above our room, which was really cool but we didn't feel like moving since we were leaving the following day. It was a two level room with a jacuzzi outside on the bottom patio, and then a layout/couch area up above.....truly awesome The room was pretty much exactly the same as ours but the outdoor decks/views were amazing, and much more private. Here are some shots: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And my darling husband, who can't make a normal face for the life of him ![]()

B-E-A-U-tiful photos!
![]() When I was looking at the photos of all those wonderful homes on the cliffs, I heard Robin Leach's voice in the back of my head, "And here we see the fabulous cliff side mansions with their wonderful luxury ocean-view pools all on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous." |
