Service hours at Peanut Pet Shelter

I did service hours at Peanut Pet Shelter, and I must say, it was very fun! All the people there are so nice, and care for the animals so much! I actually ended up paying for a dog named Luna to keep on living there. Most importantly, the dogs enjoy living there. I intend to go back there every Saturday on all my stays in Playa, and I recomend you give it a try! Below are some some photos of a Saturday at the shelter:

Oh no, I never should have looked at these pictures. Why is it that mutts are so damn cute? I can't stand it!! How do I convince my hubby we need a 3rd dog?

I like the way you think!!

I was able to get our 2nd dog that way...or just about. I knew I wanted to get a rescue and found the perfect pup for us on petfinder.com. He was fostered in a town not far from here. They came and did a home inspection, unbeknownst to my husband. Then, when I told him that we we had an appointment to meet the pup. He was completely caught off guard but said OK when I convinced him it was just to go and meet the pup and we were under no obligation to take him home. The second we walked in and our little guy ran up to us, I KNEW I was going home with that dog. He's an australian shepard/border collie mix and he is my husband's baby! We named him Jack after Jackson Pollack because he looks like someone just threw black and white paint on him.

We're planning on going again today to wash the pups and dogs. Our whole family is amazed that Luna hasn't been adopted. She's soooooooooooooo sweet and cute and still young enough to be impressionable (I think they said about 5 months old). If someone adopts her, it would be a great addition to their family and we would sponsor a new dog!
