Andrea, thanks for the great new pictures! I am once again headed for Paris and Normandy next week. I will also be in Melsungen for a few days on work business, then I will head to Cologne to visit the Cathedral. I didn't get to Cologne on my last trip, so I am looking forward to seeing the city.
How is the weather in Cologne and Paris right now? |

So you will be in Cologne when I am in Mexico...
![]() Weather these days is summer-like but next week it is supposed to get cold again. So better bring a warm jacket and some warm clothes (but a t-shirt as well as during the day it might get a little bit warmer than they predict right now). Have a great trip and enjoy our cathedral in Cologne!

I am still the only one of my department who is not located in Paris so I am still going there regularly. Have to go in september but I haven't booked anything yet. My manager comes back from vacation tomorrow so I will probably book. But a trip to Moscow is on the list for september too so I have to know if they let me go there in order to determine when I will have time to go to Paris.
I really hope they let me go to Moscow as I always wanted to go there...

Thanks, James. Our office is moving now so hopefully I will be able to take some more nice pictures when the days get longer...
Going back in 1.5 weeks and then again in 4 weeks and hopefully I will find the energy to explore the city some more since I'll be there monday to friday then.

Great photos Andrea..a couple years ago our daughter worked in Edinburgh for 6 months and we took two trips to visit, on one of them we all went to Paris for a sidetrip. Your pictures brought back pleasant memories. We loved everything about Paris....except all the graffiti, I can't believe they don't crack down on that! Thanks for sharing.

Finally this week the occasion presented itself that I left the office really early (5 PM...) and with a colleague from Cologne I went back to Montmartre. I love that area. You can just walk around whereever you feel like walking. Getting lost is difficult. There is some 'real Paris' there. We found a lot of wine-bars when we were looking for a place to have dinner at. 'les parisiennes' seem to like their aperitif before dinner as we saw some guys standing in the doors of the shops with a beer in their hands and chatting with friends. I loved that.
Here are some impressions from that evening.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
