Michael Vick is now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.... somehow, that makes sense actually

According to ESPN, Vick has signed a two year deal with the Eagles. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving bunch of fans this side of Oakland.

I hope it's true, I would never want to see him pop up in the Green and Gold which had been speculated. If something would happen to Rodgers I'd rather lose with one of our backup QB's than win with "it".

That's funny I thought the same thing. What a bunch of A-holes, not all of them but a disproportionate amount.
What a huge story, better get ready for some heavy media coverage. I think they said he will be eligible after the 2nd preseason game.

I imagine there will be a lot of noise on this one at first, and it will eventually die down. That is until McNabb gets hurt and Vick starts a couple games - McNabb has only played a full schedule once in the last 5 years (last year).

Geez, how could I have missed that piece of news? I'm watching the Pat-Eagles game now...well, actually, I'm at the computer in the office, but I watched most of the first half, and the annoucners never mentioned Michael Vick. In fact, I was like "What? Donovan McNabb is still on the Eagles?" I guess not for long...I'm glad the pats didn[t go for him, although they were rumored to be one of his potential destinations.

I am actually embarrassed of the Eagles, Believe me there are thousands of us who are NOT happy with this decision. Looks like the Cowboys just got a whole new fan base. Sad, very sad day for Philly.

It's funny, last week when there was all the hubbub of who was going to sign him, I thought there was no way the Eagles would ever be the team who would. Andy and the Eagles organization are going to regret it.

Andy has been on this big push to get the Eagles fans attention away from the Phillies - well he just blew it.

We discussed this one a few pages back as well. The big difference seems to be that Vick had the intent to kill, and did so over and over again in very cruel ways. Donte had the intent to be a stupid jackass, and killing came as an unintended result. But obviously I know what you mean with the whole human vs. dog thing as well - not sure how I think the sentences should have compared, I really battle with that one. I just think both should have been longer, especially Donte's.

You are prob. right - fans have a short memory. But I know that there are alot of pissed off fans right now. I'm watching the Andy interview on telly now - even the reporters are like "didn't you think of the fans?"

The Eagles have been trying for weeks to get the buzz away from the Phillies. Holding special meets and greets and stuff. I really believe that at least some of the fans lost alot of respect for the Eagles today. It may take the Super Bowl to get them back....

Vick better perform in Philly because if he plays like he has in the past, he is going to miss the friendly confines of prison. That is a tough city to screw up in as an athlete.
