I want to cook the fish myself.

Is Oceano the only fish market in Playa?

El Pirata is both a fish market and restaurant: http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carm...sh-market.html

You don't have to get the fish cooked at Oceano, that's just a small part of what they do.

I believe there is another fish market that comes highly regarded on Calle 14 or 16 between avenidas 30 and 35 (can someone else be more specific with these directions?).

El Pirata is another good one

El Pirata on 40th just off of 5th Avenue is anopther good option. It has two doors. On the left, you can get fish fried by the kilo to take out. On the right is a nice but basic restaurant with a full seafood menu that is all fresh and well prepared. The restaurant is full at lunchtime, almost all by locals, and the prices are not as cheap as I would have expected, considering the location and the 'down home' environment, but it is mighty tasty.
