The origin isn't in question, evolution is.
Intelligent Design hasn't a scientific leg to stand on - while evolution of the species has a wealth of scientific evidence behind it - it's simply a stratagem to try validating Creationism by beffudling minds and bring back dogma where religion has repeatedly failed when confronted with fact. Divide and rule at any cost.

"Survival of the fittest" has nothing to do with strength, but adaptability: that's what evolution relies on and I can see that almost every day when I dive.

I think the point of Hitler using Darwinism to the extreme is the same as some atrocities where Christianity or Islam is taken to the extreme. As is usual, the problem lies not in the theory, but in the humans who interpret it.

I disagree with Club America de Mexico fans' logic in choosing their favorite team, but I don't call them "Nazis" just because the conclusions to their research did not agree with mine.

Where did anyone call anyone a Nazi? It was brought up that Hitler used Darwinism as cover for his murderous ways, which is true. Had Darwinism not existed, I am sure he would have found some other angle (perhaps religious) to provide the same cover. That doesn't mean that Darwinism equals naziism, nor that those who believe in evolution are nazis. I am a bit confused how you are drawing that connection, as well.

The legacy of Charles Darwin, Dr. Kennedy said, is “millions of deaths, the destruction of those deemed inferior, the devaluing of human life, and increasing hopelessness.”
Maybe I'm drawing too much into this and Dr Kennedy is no longer with us to expand on his statement.

But to me, this implies "If you believe in evolution, you'd better check the schedule at Dachau because you wouldn't want to miss your shift."

Well actually Ben Stein is saying something akin to what Dr. Kennedy said:

Alas, Darwinism has had a far bloodier life span than Imperialism. Darwinism, perhaps mixed with Imperialism, gave us Social Darwinism, a form of racism so vicious that it countenanced the Holocaust against the Jews and mass murder of many other groups in the name of speeding along the evolutionary process.

I *think* we agree on this point: The fact that Hitler took Darwin's theories to an unnatural and horrific extreme does not mean either that the theory of evolution is wrong (or inherently evil) nor does it mean that those who accept the theory of evolution as being accurate are therefore Nazis.

But it is important to note that I have no doubt the proponents of this argument -such as Stein and Kennedy - are fully aware of it's inflammatory nature and hope that some may be influenced by the very conclusion (albeit erroneous) that if you adhere to evloution you risk being a Nazi or some such BS.
