Manatee Cenote

Does anyone know if Casa Cenote is still closed? Is it possible to swim now in Manatee Cenotee? I know that there was some damage from the last hurricane. I will in Playa the first week of January and thought this would be good place to check out. (I tried searching but couldn't find an answer to this question).
Thanks!

Yes, Casa Cenote is closed, another casualty of Hurricane Dean. You can go to Manatee Cenote but the beach in Tankah isn't very nice (no one has cleaned up since Dean).

According to a posting on LG, Casa Cenote opened up a few days ago.

That's too bad! I hope they are able to get back on their feet.
Thanks for the quick replies. Sounds like it may be better to visit other places. I went to Xcacel last year and was looking for another beach with a swimming cenote nearby.

Best way to help him get back on his feet-stop by and have a few beers.

Definitely! More than glad to do my part to help, especially if it means having a few beers. Thanks.

Strange, we were supposed to stop there (Tankah/Manatee cenote) last Monday on the Sea to Cenote tour but the area was checked out the day before and we were told it was not in good shape...and by that I don't mean just that Casa Cenote was just closed, I mean as in very damaged by the hurricane. I'll have to check with Mitch to see if I'm thinking of the same place - don't want to be giving out incorrect info!

I was on Tankah bay on Monday Dec 3. I took pictures that I posted on tulum.info. Casa Cenote had a lot of heavy equipment moving sand around but word is (from LG) that it opened this past Sunday. There's no way the lodging units could have opened. they looked like empty shells. The cenote looked great, but I will tell you I didn't swim in it.

I believe gary has reopened the restaurant and bar at Casa cenote.... this may be only for the Sunday beach BBQ, but Bill in tulsa's site says the restaurant is fully open
