Have you checked the webcam? It's gorgeous where I am right now, about 15 kilometers south of Playa proper. I imagine a chance of rain does exist though, by the weekend... remnants of the weird tropical storm that developed out there a few days ago. It's dying out though, so there may be nothing but blue skies.

This gets said time and time and time and time and time (you get the picture) again. On the bigger picture, no, it alone should not spoil a holiday. However. Speaking from personal experience..... I will be travelling to Playa very shortly for my only break all year. The country I am travelling from has had pretty much nothing but rain, every day, for the majority of the year - including wide-spread flooding in my city due to it and this during the supposed "summer" months. It is a very costly exercise too this holiday. Now, I am coming for warmth and sunshine. A break from the rain. Please god, a break from the god damn rain. I don't drink so "hey, if it rains, go get drunk in a bar" doesn't quite cut it. So, on that basis.... yes.... I understand why the OP is asking the question.... sometimes rain can spoil to some extent a holiday..... and, being totally honest with you, although obviously its nature so its beyond prediction and control, if it regularly chucks it down when I am there it will hack me off a touch. Please stop giving anyone who asks a question like this a hard time. Sorry. That feels better. That's bugged me for a while now. ![]() |

you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows
Arnold,
Having lived in Maastricht for six months, I understand your concern about rain (For the record, I love the Netherlands and Maastricht especially.) While nobody can guarantee the weather, the weather is usually wonderful at this time of year and the next two months. Just go and have fun. The weather will take care of itself.Quote:
