Not much to report this day. Slept in, eventually everyone made it down to the beach. Had breakfast, and found the nearest lounge chair. That was my day. Others walked up and down the beach, explored 5th and beyond, took a drive through Playacar, and just generally wasted the day away. The weather is variable with a couple brief showers. The Blue Parrot palapa is coming along nicely:
Had to laugh at this one. Hard hats, chainsaw, and bare feet.
Had drinks, read a book, listened to my MP3, took goofy pics, and watched the world go by.
Had noticed on a walkabout last night that El Oasis was open again. In typical Mexican fashion, the place was gated and locked the night before, with a truck parked right in the middle of it. Today, it was open for business. Ate there three times in the next two days. What can I say? I love their shrimp tacos. Not a great pic:
Dinner tonight is at Taco's Israel. 3 words:
OH MY GOD!
Very tasty, extremely filling and a nice variety of sauces ranging from bland to muy picante. Great location as the sights and smells from the Carnival midway were very close. Stuffed ourselves there and walked for a bit. Happened by the Beer Bucket when we spied a familiar face from the forum. Bumper, like a rock star with all his groupies around him, was shaking hands and giving his famous hugs to all the chicas. Introduced ourselves, as we're practically neighbors. Kidded him about his football team:
Really nice guy, and I'm sorry we didn't stay and meet the rest of the peeps. Maybe next time. Back down 5th to window shop and then back to the beach for a few Cuba Libre's. Tomorrow is a full day as half are off to Coba and half to Gran Cenote. We'll meet up later at Tulum to explore Parasio and beyond.
