Travelling, working and living in so many different countries, that's the great advantage of the Shengen Agreement.

By bringing people closer together it has pratically eliminated the rivalries that allowed Europe to evolve from its former and seemingly perpetual state of war.

On Friday the 21st of December nine new countries join the 15-country Schengen accord, which allows people to move more freely across borders in most of Europe. The Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia are the new members.

Don't build walls, tear them down.
