Royal playa del carmen beachfront rooms?

Has anyone ever stayed in the beachfront walkout rooms at the royal? I will be there over the new year and am wanting the best combo of view and privacy. Anyone have any suggestions?

Don't know an exact answer to your question, but this MAP might be helpful.

Ask and you shall receive. That was some fast info. So I am assuming that the yellow ones close to the beach are the beachfront walkout rooms that are on the first floor. I couldnt move around at all and see if there was a legend, but according to this map I am gonna ask for room 635. Thanks again.

It's a PDF file.
You should be able to zoom in on the map and move around?
According to the legend at the bottom of the map room 635 (ROYAL JR. SUITE BEACH FRONT WALK OUT) is next to the "Wedding Beach Gazebo".

As far as the view goes, you might be a tad dissapointed...There is a burm with vegetation between the first floor rooms and the beach..Actually the ocean front rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor have a much better view...
Rooms 635, 636, 637, 638 are farther away from the pool and offer a bit more privacy..
Rooms 514, 515, 516, 517, 518, 519 are closer to the pool and the swing bar..Less privacy and the music from the pool might be a consideration...

Because there are so FEW "ocean front" rooms, what are the odds of actually getting one after you pay quite a bit of extra $$$$ ???? Just wondering what to do.... Thanks.....

I would not pay extra for a beachfront room at the Royal. Waste of money inmho...The resort is too small to need it.

I would pay extra for oceanfront, but not a beachfront walk out.

Well thats what we are trying this time. As far as your question about getting the room you actually want for oceanfront, if you reserve a beachfront or beachfront walkout suite then that is exactly what you get because you paided the extra money.

We paid extra for oceanfront. We are hoping for third floor accomodations. We know about the burm. Oceanfront offers more bang for the buck. We didn't pay all that much really, and are looking VERY forward to the upgrade.

I am trying to do that right now but no luck just yet. I have emailed the hotel to see what the story is. I am trying to reserve room 636. Hopefully i will hear back from them. I am flying to dallas out of oklahoma city tomorrow at 4:45 and then leaving out of dallas on sunday. Should be at the hotel by 2 and ready to party.

The problem to get into the check_in on line is the way you write your names. Both names have to be mentionned (if you are a couple)
Try to enter the names different ways. ex : ( SMITH, John /RICHARD, Carol )
To get in is the hardest part, once your there, enjoy its fun.
