Same style as Manolo's. I do think the chimichurri at El Diez is better though. Really nice grilled meats and the pizza is pretty good also. Service is excellent and there seems to be a lot of locals there.(Plus it's close to home, a big plus. )//Dalle |

Thanks soooo much. These lists are great and am sending them out to our other 21 friends going with us on this trip and am going to add them to my BBGE/Playa booklet that I made for our group.
Again, thanks - so nice to have locations of everyplace I plan to visit (well, not all of them of course). But plan on at least 3 of the bars, a sports bar, food carts, Carboncitos and El Fogon (plus going to eat one day in Akumel as well) WOW - great job!!

New burger bar open on 5th av./24th street called "Cry Baby". According to the guys there they will be open 24/7 starting friday next week.
Tried the Cry baby burger and it was alright. Nothing special, but perfectly alright. Will probably only stop there when I'm on my way home late (or early depending on how you see it ) from the bars/clubs. ![]() //Dalle |

Butchers and Fishmongers
I have been an active researcher of the Playa food scene as well. This year I think I might try and buy some meats and fish and prepare them at the Villa in between visits to Carboncitos, La Pesca, and HC Monterrey for lunch( a change of pace from eating out). I did a search on butchers and got a lot of Off Topic stuff. Anyone have advice on where to go (besides Mega, HC Monterrey, H&M Butcher) or are these just the best place to go anyway??
I think I remember one of the restaurant's down by the beach having a fish monger (pescadaria). I can't remember which maybe Oceano? I'll be taking a taxi in from the Royal Haciendas, I imagine the easiest thing would be to go for dinner at Pesca, then walk over to Mega and just stock up there. But where would you go to get the best of these grocery items?? Fish Beef/Arrachera Bread Tortilla's Thanks, Wheelie |

You are correct about the prices, but you might consider splitting a steak and a potato, which is what my wife and I always do since 10 oz of filet is more than either of us would eat but makes a nice size dinner portion. Assuming you only have a glass of the house wine or a beer and each of you has a salad and you split the potato and the steak, that is plenty of very good food and while it isn't cheap, it is a nice dinner for a special occasion. We do the same thing here with increasing frequency given that the size of the portions in the USA seems to get bigger and bigger every year, as do we Americans, who are now the fattest people on the planet with the exception of the Samoans.
