I'll say it ain't so but the study by Harvard reseachers published this week in the Archives of Internal Medicine, "found that the risk of dying at an early age - from heart disease, cancer, or any other cause - rises in step with red-meat consumption"
![]() ![]() ![]() .And "processed red meat products - such as hot dogs, bacon, and salami - appeared to be even more dangerous". ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I guess that it is back to the drawing board for me .

I'll call BS on that Al(not calling it on you, just on the study). In my 45 years of existence I have seen study after study claim something is bad for you only to be reversed by another study done a few years later. The one that comes to mind to me is the "eggs are bad for you" movement a while back. Now they are saying that eggs are great for you!
I think eating "good" meat, not the crap from Wal-Mart is absolutely fine for you as long as, like EVERYTHING, you do it in moderation. A nice steak once in a while? I'll take my chances, I'm gonna die anyway, not sure I'd trade a couple extra years in my 80's for not eating meat the rest of my life. |

I am only the messenger ..........don't kill the messenger .The study actually is about people that eat red meat and processed red meat 7 days a week. Damn, I used to eat meat 7 days a week, 2-3 meals/day when I lived in South Dakota (for 17 years). But it was at my restaurant - so that was okay .

Red meat unhealthy for you and shortens your lifespan when you eat too much of it...wow...this is groundbreaking news to some?
they have known this for YEARS! Animal fat in excess = BAD for you in pretty much every way.

D a gigi ?
A new restaurant should open in the next several days. Located on the NW corner of AV. 10 and calle 20...........the name on the building says DA GIGI. I don't know if it has anything to do with the other DA GIGI restaurant located on AV. 5 just north of calle 32.

Perhaps....although some of us say things like that more out of a desire to rationalize our bad choices.....it's what I used to say when I smoked...'hey, I only smoke light cigs, and only 6 a day!' ![]() Eating a cup of carrots every day is definitely more healthy for you than an equal amount of red meat, all other aspects of diet being exactly the same and assuming enough protein....just saying!

Eating white rice daily ups diabetes risk, study shows - HealthPop - CBS News And we already know fish have mercury in them, fruits are too high in sugar, vegetables are filled with pesticides. I guess only twinkies are safe. |
