The leather couches former "inhabitants" probably provided for meat, too.......so for me, personally that is on a different page.
It is - for me- not per se about not killing animals for food etc., or for things that are normal in every day life and are taken off the same animals that provide us with meat.
I have a problem, however, with killing animals only for their fur when we are talking fur that is pure show off and nothing else. Meaning: a cow hide- that wrapped a steak once- is different to me personally than 100 silver foxes who only died because someone wants to look pretty.

My opinion sort of goes along the same lines of my opinion of hunting here: folks who hunt, then actually eat the meat and use the fur in front of their bed or wherever as a carpet are okay for me..........as they actually put all of the dead animal to use after.
Folks that "only" go trophy hunting, f.e. for animals in Africa, are not okay in my book, because in that case the animal only dies for the vanity of the hunter.

only the fox doesn't fit. I got the minks as an adult from adults and they fit just fine. I love to wear the coat and it's nobodys business what I do with them. Only the well to do can afford to buy them and there's not a whole lot of people buying them anymore. I also don't worry about all the little test rabbits.
I do worry about the fish in the ocean that are having to deal with all that gas leaking from the dive boats.

I have no fur.
As a young outdoorsman I used to trap fur. I was good at it. I now regret it.
I don't mind if you wear fur, but it's inefficient.
I do what I can for the enviorment to make up for past transgressions.
I still hunt and fish. I give the hides to friends who use deer hide.
I guess I am still bad.

What about those of us that hunt (not trophy hunting) that only use the meat and discard the fur?? Are we really bad people too??
