didn't look at them. I have a mink short coat and a mink cape...both inherited. The coat is mucho warm...no use for the cape
I also have a white fox stole that I won when I was 15. I am giving it to a little cousin for xmas...she can play dress-up in it. If anybody dares to throw paint or something on my coat...they will have to suffer with 2 broken arms and a cleaning bill. people have been wearing furs since day one. I also eat meat..lots of it. |

As- the whole warm and soft and whatever argument for fur doesn't fly these days due to all those wonderful new fabrics out there that are warm and soft without any deaths.......... Also day one doesn't really count, right? If we'd go by what we did and did not have on day one....... well, keep your fur coat and hand in your car, your electrical gadgets etc.- evolving is the word I guess and I think humans have evolved far enough to at least keep warm without killing for the beauty of fur on their shoulders. Oh- and if someone comes up with the "but my shoes are animal too" argument- yeah, some of them are. BUT most of them animal leather of animals that are not solely killed for the shoe.... unlike fur. Sorry- I have to be honest: I have NO tolerance for fur. None. My Mom has a very very expensive furcoat, so I KNOW that it is light and does feel nice...............but I'd never wear it as I wouldn't want animals to die just so I can have my little luxury. That said- inherited is one thing, buying a new one, thus helping the industry is another. Although I wouldn't even wear an inherited one....... |

Wouldn't it be better to donate them to a poor Eskimo family? |

Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you. Last edited by Daddy B : 12-22-2007 at 07:42 PM. |

Noone here told that you can't wear fur. Anna simply begged you not to do it, I stated I have no tolerance for it and the reasons why. That doesn't mean either of us is telling you what to wear- we are just telling you what we are thinking about you wearing it. ![]() See it this way- I am a smoker. That is a bad thing too that harms other beings. I give credit to all the arguments against it- heck, I want to stop smoking in fact- BUT I still smoke......even if I know some people despise me for it. So you go wear your fur proudly and let me be mad about that while I smoke and let others be mad at me for it. ![]() Important note though: if I am asked by people in my presence to not smoke around them I don't. Susie can attest to it- and I didn't even need a smoke-break on the way to Majahual. |
