All the CIA's material? (POSSIBLY CRIMINAL)

So, the possibility that the CIA may have acted illegally by witholding "all available material" concerning the interrogation of suspects connected to 11th September is being investigated.

Apparently, to withold requested material from a federal inquiry is a crime in the US...

Will the CIA manage to get out scot-free?

Will this be a watershed moment in making Dubbya's administration accountable?

Or will anyone/everyone escape punishment as soon as the accusations of being unpatriotic start hitting the fan?

Not mine, it was in the news.
But you're probably right, better swept under the carpet lest the worms start squiggling out.

Not the 8ft worms, those are guarding the entrance to Hell, of course.

I thought we already determined the CIA were criminals. Are'nt we beating a dead horse with that.Maybe you should be writing to the politicians to see if they want to act on that.?

About the CIA torturing suspects? This whole thread is supposed to cheer people up!
Personally, it gives me cause to cheer seeing that disgusting practice well under the limelight and that, hopefully the investigation will help put a stop to such atrocities.

Glad to see that you are imbued with the same cheerfulness as myself!

There is evidence to assume it was an al-Qaeda torture chamber (located in one of their safe havens) but all that has been found was graffitti making references to the Islamic State of Iraq, an umbrella organisation that includes al-Qaeda In Iraq and many other groups.

Still, why do you condemn torture by just one side (after all, you have stated many times that you support torture, have you not?)?
If one side is entitled to torture, so is the other, surely.

To me, all torturers are "bad guys", no matter how much or where they commit they crimes.

And the worst of the worst are those who give the orders that unleash them.

No, I don't: I've posted countless times about what I think of the "other side".

Some of them are terroristic, maniacal, homicidal, extremely cruel and inhuman torturing and murdering religious freaks.

From these I don't expect much, they probably won't change. I hope they get what they legally deserve.

What must be done is to get back the moderates who have been pushed further and further away from us by crimes such as those comitted at Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay and wherever the CIA rides roughshod over the very ideals it is supposed to help uphold.

Of the rest, many are freedom fighters struggling and dying to rid their country of an illegal invader and occupier.

Yep, War is a bitch!

When you are in war that is largely being fought for the "hearts and minds" of people all over the world it is ill advised to replicate the tactics of your opponent. Don't you think?

Or in a more seasonal approach: WWJD
