Begged my parents for MONTHS for this...

Got it from bubbie and zadie for Hanukkah.

Turns out it was pretty lame.

My first lesson in "marketing hype."

I knew Canada was generally somewhat more socialized than the U.S., but communist? I wouldn't go that far!!!

A devious way of saying no, my allowance was 50 cents a week. When I was 25, I made them pay for half my first horse

Oddly the one gift that sticks in my mind was a stuffed Cecil. He was a character from a kids show. I was easy to please. Or, maybe my easy bake oven, or Chatty Kathy doll.
My daughter has insisted this year that she wants a pony. A REAL pony, that she can ride and live in our back yard. But she has to be pink.

Wow...you were a lucky kid! Guns on our farm were kinda' community shared. You didn't get one handed down until grand dad, pop, or big brother bought one or where handed down one. Guns weren't a Christmas thing because most hunting seasons were over by then. Of course I don't really remember paying much mind to the law back in the day if it meant foodon the table!
I remember loving the Lincoln Logs and Etch-a-Sketch I got on a couple of Christmas's!

I freaked out when I got a Mary Poppins doll and a new bike with a banana seat and brakes on handlebars. I scored big that Christmas.

The year I got a baby doll and Blue Willow porcelain tea set. Made me the happiest little girl that year. Then my dad apparently forgot to take the child-sized mop & broom set from under the bed and I found it the following day. I was all set to be a really good "momma" to my baby

About five or six years ago hubby surprised me with an 8 piece set of "grown" up "made in England" Blue Willow set. Every year I tell the same story to my kids as I drag it out for breakfast on Christmas Eve. Doesn't go with my decor but I love that dinner set.

A Baby Alive. It was a baby doll that I could feed - it mostly just spit it all back though. But I loved it. Oh and a Barbie tent - I loved to hold the cat hostage in it.
