the Easybake oven was by far my favorite Christmas gift as a child!!
My sister's favorite gift was the Barbie perfume maker....the concoctions we would make with both our gifts
As a preteen, I remember getting a bad ass Sony Walkman!

Yep, mine too. Until I discovered that I had to have the damn mixes to use it. And no way could anyone in my household afford those. Kinda makes me sad still.

I was often disappointed at Christmas as a child because I would want and ask for a specific item and the folks either a) waited until the last minute and it wasn't available, b) couldn't afford it and got something entirely different that I didn't ask for at all, or c) either waited too late OR couldn't afford it or both so they tried to get me something the same but different and totally broke my heart as I had to then act happy with whatever crappy substitute gift thingie I did get. Those cheesy dime store Barbies just didn't cut it.

Awww--I think Rick should get you one!
We used to use the Jiffy cake mixes in the EasyBake oven. I also remember getting nasty burns from that dangerous lightbulb--I wonder if they still use lightbulbs in today's "I'll sue" society??

I never wanted an easy bake oven..too girlie for me. I did get a thing that made rubbery worms and bugs....can't remember what it was called but it came with molds and an oven thing to bake them in.

Was around '76. My dad was into photography. He bought 3 of us kids 35mm SLR Cameras. I got a Pentax, Bro and sis got Minolta's. With the cameras we got a 200 zoom telephoto each, plus all the accessories needed. Cases, cleaning gear. We were amazed....I was 13, my first real "Adult" thing...

That thing freaked me out as a child.

I guess it prepared me better for parenthood.
