I love it too. I love getting totally immersed in the movie and don't want to talk to anyone.
...or anyone trying to talk to me![]() Sweeney Todd is at the top for me too. Although I might have to balance it out by seeing a comedy right after. ![]() I did that one time. I went to see Quills, very dark and demented (but a great movie) then went straight over to the theater showing Chocolat (Johnny! ) to get the 'creepy" out of my head

This year was the first time I went solo to a movie and it was so less intimidating than I thought it would be. In my teens and 20's I never would have gone alone. Now in my 40's, I don't really care if I sit alone and enjoy a movie. My DH and I don't always agree on the type of movies to see so I go by myself to most of the chick flicks. Works out for both of us.

I have never been to a movie by myself... I just rarely go to the movies at all... it's such a time commitment!
But I wouldn't have a problem going solo, if the opportunity presented itself...but who would I whisper to? Things like "Hey, that's that guy from that other movie" and "Yep, she'll be killed soon, I think"

Miss having a wide choice of films, sometimes.
Have been to cinemas alone, there is a cinema in London, adjacent to the Swiss Centre (Trocadero, Picadilly Circus area) that showed French and other non-anglophone films. I saw many there on my own, amongst those I remember was a Belgian film titled "Man Bites Dog". Also attended many classical music and flamenco concerts on my own... with some chemical friends, mind you.

And those one doesn't want to be spotted watching...
![]() Like that Ben Stein's new offering, of course, not referring to salaciousness and perversion. Last edited by Daddy B; 12-23-2007 at 10:48 PM.. |

Saw this ages ago (in the early 90s) with a good friend at Three Penny in Chicago (believe it's been torn down now for yet more overpriced condos) and was so shocked and horrified I nearly walked out. I was very young and impressionable.

I also remember when I was reading "American Psycho" while commuting on a train and got to the first murder after having been almost bored to death with the yuppie preocupations that seem never-ending at the beginning of the book. |

my friend Brenda goes every Tuesday...50 cents at the dollar movies. But then I busted her at a place that has slot machines in the back. Yeah, that was some movie she ws supposed to be at.
![]() I used to go to matinees by myself a long time ago. I really have lost interest in going to any theaters....I can wait till it comes out on DVD or cable. I got to see Dream Girls today on HBO. |
