Yes, Mikey, you're right!! Lots more "Merry Christmas"s happening this year, and it's nice to see that people are chilling out on the whole PC fiasco that erupted in 2006.
And just to add one more point (directed mainly at the ridiculous ruling made by some judicial moron in Australia this holiday season): Santa Claus says "Ho! Ho! Ho!" , not "Ha! Ha! Ha!" ![]()

I never really cared much one way or the other what people say and I don't know anyone who has ever actually been offended by the "wrong" greeting. I do think that many on the right played up the whole "merry christmas" vs. "happy holidays" thing to stir up animosity on the right against a non-existent "war on christmas" allegedly being prosecuted by the left.
![]() I generally will make my greeting religion specific if I know the person's religion. If I don't, I'll sometimes say "merry christmas" sometimes "happy holidays." I have NEVER been aware of offending someone by saying "merry christmas." Likewise, I have NEVER been offended by someone saying it to me. I never thought of it as being "politically correct" as I can't imagine anyone being offended by a holiday greeting! I just think its a matter of personal preference. Whether people are saying "merry christmas," "happy holidays," "happy hannuka," or "have a disgruntled festivus" ( ) I just think its WONDERFUL that people this year tend to be so much more friendly and warm toward one another! Its one of the reasons I love the holiday seasons so much!!!

Being surrounded by a great variety of people (Muslims, Buddhists, Taoists and Jews, not to mention those pagans with whom I've been known to hang) I generally just say "Happy Holidays." It has nothing to do with being politically correct -- just inclusive!

Marry Christmas/Xmas/Pagan Festival/Roman Bacchanalia...
It's the tought that counts, not the wording, I think. I'm as happy when people wish me a good time, I don't see any hidden meanings - or lack thereof - behind the spelling. So, consider yourselves greeted in any way you prefer: please put words in my mouth - if only for this rarest of occasions, though ![]() ![]() .

Walmart supposedly took a big hit in sales in 2005 Christmas Season because they instructed their sales people to say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. This year they are wishing everyone Merry Christmas
