Has anyone else noticed......

Has anyone else noticed that people seem to be saying "Have a Merry Christmas or Merry Christmas" this year......More then Happy Holidays.....At least thats the way it has been around here in Dallas.....It's so nice to hear......I mean it actually has more of a Christmas feel then a PC feel this year......

Merry Christmas, Mikey!!!
When I say "Happy Holidays," it is to abbreviate Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I like both greetings, although maybe it is because I don't see it as being PC...I see it as a way of spreading goodwill from one person to another...
"Happy Holidays" means the person wishes you a happy day on every holiday. "Merry Christmas" means that that person celebrates Christmas, and wishes me a merry Christmas...

Merry Christmas to all of you. Take the time to hug the ones you love and appreciate the blessed life you have. It is what counts the most.

That is so true, it really only comes down to being with people you love and care about, all the other crap is just hogwash! (No offense woodman!)

I received this e-mail from a friend who lives in Puerto Vallarta..
I agree
Merry Christmas
.....
I will be making a conscious effort to wish everyone a Merry Christmas
.. My way of saying that I am celebrating the birth Of Jesus Christ. So
I am asking my email buddies, if you agree with me, to please do the
same. And if you'll pass this on to your email buddies, and so on...
maybe we can prevent one more American tradition from being lost in the
sea of "Political Correctness"

So true......I mean what is political correctness anyway......Changing what one might believe or a tradition one may have not to offend someone.....I just purchased a new TV......The salesman was jewish.....I did not know....When we left I wished him a Merry Christmas....He said to me Happy Holidays friends...That told me he was jewish and I said back to him Happy Holidays friend.....That way I got to say my traditional saying and he got to say his traditional saying and everyone was Happy and no one had to worry about being PC.......Does that make sense? And by the way he called me and asked me how I liked the new TV and If everything was OK I told him I loved it and thanked him for all that he did and he actually said to me have a Merry Christmas and I then told him Happy Holidays....

This year just has a different feel to it.....Like it use to before everyone was worried about offending someone......I mean I can never remember saying Have a Merry Christmas and someone going off on me about how they were offended by that......Ever......Yet last year even on this forum there was a big bruhaha about Happy Holidays vs Merry Christmas......And I really do understand the abbreviated Happy Holidays for both Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.....But not to say it because you may offend someone who does not celebrate Christmas or believe in the birth of Christ......Is a little much for me......
